10 Chambers is a fully funded scale-up game studio backed by Tencent and based in the beautiful city of Stockholm, Sweden. We are an ambitious, creative, and collaborative team with a lifelong love for games.
We are continuing the development of our first game GTFO and are also working on our next project, a cooperative heist FPS in a techno-thriller setting. Originated and directed by Ulf Andersson, the game designer of Payday 1 & 2.
We are looking for an experienced UI Designer. In this hands-on role you will work as part of our game development team (working in Unity) to design and implement user interfaces that effectively communicate information and guide players through the game.
More specifically you will:
- Working with Direction from the Art Director and Game Design Director, you will translate the UI vision into a design system of implementable components, and turn them into fully functionable in engine interfaces
- You will be responsible for bringing UI elements into engine and following design and UX system principles to implement user interfaces directly in-engine.
- Ensure interface interactions feel good by creating the right combination of audio-visuals, feedback, controller input and timing
- Collaborate closely with art, design and programming departments, gathering feedback and iterating as needed
- Create and maintain UI designs and technical documentation
- Fix bugs and optimize UI game assets to meet performance requirements and to comply with platform specifications
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience working as a games UI designer in a hands-on implementation role, preferably in Unity
- Fluent in English, written and spoken (Swedish is not a requirement)
- Very strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of game development specific interface design patterns
- Knowledge with the Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Being able to develop and maintain wireframes and flows using Figma
