Senior Sound Designer
JOIN US IN COOKING UP THE NEXT LEGENDARY CO-OP GAMING EXPERIENCE!
10 Chambers is a fully funded scale-up game studio backed by Tencent and based in the beautiful city of Stockholm, Sweden. We are an ambitious, creative, and collaborative team with a lifelong love for games.
We are now working on our next project, a cooperative heist FPS in a sci-fi setting with techno-thriller vibes: Den of Wolves. The game is originated and directed by Ulf Andersson, the game designer of Payday the Heist & PAYDAY 2.
We are looking for a full-time, on-site Senior Sound Designer who is passionate about sound design and sound implementation and has a strong sense of quality.
You will be responsible for all aspects of sound design in our productions: Designing, gathering, editing, processing and mixing sounds, as well as working with programmers to integrate the sound triggering and behavior in our games. You will also put sounds to – and mix – any trailers we create in-house.
You will work closely with other teams to ensure that the audio design lines up with the vision for the game as a whole. You will help create and maintain the sound design visions and systems for Den of Wolves.
What you will do
- Record, design, edit, process and mix sounds in Reaper for the game, as well as external trailers and other marketing media.
- Create and implement complex dynamic audio systems in Wwise and Unity using graphs and proprietary in-house tools.
- Take ownership in ensuring that audio systems, Wwise implementation and optimization meet the technical requirements of the project.
- Ensure technical optimization and alignment of sound effects with game themes
- Collaborate closely with other departments to support the game's overall vision
- Document, organize and quality-assure sound design and processes
- Keep the Wwise project and audio libraries organized.
Required qualifications
- Complete the initial sound test – see instructions under the headline “Essential application details” below.
- 6+ years of experience as a professional game sound designer, working full cycle on at least one FPS and/or 3rd person 3D game with swiveling camera.
- Have a strong ability to be self-directing, work independently, and adapt to an agreed-upon sound design style.
- Full proficiency in Reaper.
- Be proficient in Audiokinetic Wwise and be able to adapt to an established Wwise structure
- Be collaborative and have a strong ability to communicate with other dev team members.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English (Swedish is not a requirement).
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with Dolby Atmos and 3D object-based mixing.
- Experience with sound design on multi-platform title(s).
- Experience with field recordings.
Essential application details
As you submit your application, you will automatically be sent an e-mail containing an audio file and a PDF file with instructions regarding the essential application test. If you do not receive an e-mail immediately, please check your spam filter.
You can take as much time as you want with the test (it's not a speed test), but we expect you to submit your assignment no later than three days after receiving it.
The position is on-site in our Stockholm office, meaning you need to live in (or be willing to relocate to) Stockholm, Sweden. We will be happy to assist with the relocation.
